Compatibility & Important Information

Steam Game Compatibility: Steam Deck runs SteamOS, a Linux-based operating system designed for PC gaming. Many Steam games work directly or through Valve's Proton compatibility technology, but not every game is supported. Some titles may have limitations involving anti-cheat systems, launchers or specific hardware requirements. Check individual games' Steam Deck compatibility information before purchasing.

Display Resolution: The built-in OLED touchscreen has a native resolution of 1280 x 800 with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. Higher display resolutions are supported through the USB-C connection and a compatible external dock or adapter, sold separately. Actual game performance depends on the title and settings.

Internet & Steam Account: A Steam account and internet connection are required for initial setup, game downloads and certain online features. Many installed games support offline play, although some require an ongoing connection or additional authentication.

Games: No paid games are included with the console. Games can be purchased or downloaded through Steam, including supported free-to-play titles. Any Steam profile benefits or digital customisation items are subject to Valve's account eligibility and redemption conditions.

Power & Battery: The console features a built-in rechargeable 50Wh lithium-ion battery and comes with a 45W USB-C power supply. Battery life varies according to the game, brightness, performance settings and wireless usage.

Storage: The 1TB internal SSD can be supplemented using compatible microSD cards, sold separately. Some internal storage is reserved for the operating system.

External Display: Steam Deck can be connected to a compatible television or monitor using a suitable USB-C adapter or dock. A docking station and HDMI cable are not included.

Game Format: Steam Deck plays compatible digitally downloaded PC games. It does not include a physical game cartridge slot or optical disc drive and does not directly play PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo game discs.

UK Version: This product is supplied as the UK version. The included power supply should be checked against the retail packaging to confirm the appropriate UK plug.

Additional games, microSD cards, docking stations, external controllers and accessories are sold separately.
