Compatibility & Important Information

This UK PlayStation 5 Slim Disc Edition supports compatible physical and digital PS5 games, along with the vast majority of backwards-compatible PS4 games. PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and original PlayStation game discs are not supported.

The disc drive is included and installed. An internet connection is required for initial disc drive pairing during setup. A PlayStation account is required for purchasing and downloading games from the PlayStation Store.

Sony has announced that newly released PlayStation games will be digital-only from January 2028. This does not prevent the console from playing compatible physical games released before that date.

4K resolution, HDR, ray tracing and 120fps performance depend on the game and connected television or monitor. Online multiplayer in some games requires an active PlayStation Plus subscription, sold separately.

The DualSense wireless controller includes a built-in rechargeable battery. The console is powered using the supplied AC mains cable. The official vertical stand is not included and must be purchased separately if required.
